Emergencies can happen when we least expect them. The best protection for homeowners, municipalities, farmers and land owners is to be prepared to deal with potential emergencies. An extensive emergency management program is the best defense to protect our communities, environment and economy.
Whether the emergency stems from natural or human causes, the role of the Emergency Management is to provide a timely organized response. Municipalities in Saskatchewan are required to create emergency plans by The Emergency Planning Act, 1989. Through the ministry there are Emergency Management and Fire Safety training courses available for communities.
