A Notary Public is a person who administers oaths, takes and receive affidavits, affirmations and declarations. Notaries can endorse documents used in and outside the Province of Saskatchewan.
Individuals wishing to be appointed as a Notary Public can do so by completing and submitting an application form found online to the Ministry of Justice along with a recent criminal record check and a fee of $200. All applicants must be a Canadian Citizen over the age of 18 who resides in Saskatchewan or a British subject over the age of 18 who also resides in Saskatchewan. Appointments are approved monthly by the Deputy Minister of Justice and Deputy Attorney General. All appointments are valid and certificates are printed on the last day of the month in which the application was received.
